SECOND PRESCRIPTION DRUG TAKE-BACK EVENT TO BE HELD AT HOLYOKE MALL

Holyoke Mall Partners With Holyoke Police Department to Safely Dispose of Medication

HOLYOKE, MA- Holyoke Mall, in partnership with the Holyoke Police Department, is set to host the Mall’s second Prescription Drug Take-Back event on Saturday, October 27, 2018, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on the Upper Level near Target.

After last year’s success, Holyoke Mall encourages the community to drop off their unused or expired prescription and over-the-counter medications to ensure their safe disposal. Unused prescriptions and medications can have severe consequences if taken inappropriately and can cause harm to the environment when disposed of improperly.

After the event, Holyoke Mall will be donating the medical return box to the Holyoke Police Department assisting in Holyoke City Council’s efforts to provide Holyoke a safe way to dispose of medication. According to the District Attorney’s Office, “the medical return boxes are monitored by the respective host law enforcement agency” and are picked up and properly disposed of by the Hampden County Sheriff’s Department.

Holyoke Mall is proud to be a part of this important initiative and collaborate with the Holyoke Police Department to help those in our community and make Holyoke a safer place.
