Summer is just around the corner, and that means our Tykes Tuesday program is back Tuesday mornings from 11:00 AM to noon in Macy’s Court! The fun starts July 7 and runs to August 18.
*The following events will have different times and/or locations:
- Piti Theatre’s Story Wizards on Tuesday, July 14 will be from 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM in Macy’s Court.
- Pickleball 101 Class for Kids on Tuesday, July 28 will be at Pickleball Kingdom with two sessions available:
- 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM
- 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM
- Sing and Learn with Something Royal on Tuesday, July 28 will be in the common area right outside Pickleball Kingdom.
The kids’ program is free, open to the public, and is best suited for children ages 12 and under. This year’s activities include a fun science demonstration, live animal ambassadors, Christmas in July, and more!

July 7: The Science of Suds with CT Science Center
Get ready to feel bubbly with a fun, hands-on exploration of the colorful science of soap and water. This engaging stage show uncovers the mysteries behind bubbles’ shape, color, and surprising behavior. With larger-than-life demonstrations, this interactive experience merges science with unforgettable entertainment!
July 14: Piti Theatre’s Story Wizards (3:00 PM – 4:00 PM)
In this tale of audience participation to the Nth degree, children embrace their own storytelling abilities and become Story Wizards.
The plot? A Wizard Even Crankier than the Story Wizard has stolen the world’s tales and he sets off to find them. Luckily he discovers a musical being named Laurella living in a giant mushroom who introduces him to – the audience! New stories are born from children’s suggestions and onstage participation.
July 21: Christmas in July
It’s halfway to Christmas and Mrs. Claus will be visiting Holyoke Mall to check if you’ve been naughty or nice! Visit with and hear a story from Mrs. Claus, write a letter to Santa, have your face painted, and enjoy holiday treats!
July 28: Sing and Learn With Something Royal Party Co./Pickleball 101 Class for Kids at Pickleball Kingdom
This week we have TWO great events, one for younger kiddos and one for the older ones!
Sing and Learn With Our Pre-K Friend
Our Pre-K Friend is excited to dance and play with kids of all ages. Your little one will enjoy classic songs, dancing, and stories!
Pickleball 101 Class
Kids 7 and older can learn the basics of Pickleball from a qualified coach leading a group class on the fundamentals of this fun sport! Paddle and ball will be supplied. Please wear closed toed shoes or sneakers.
*Registration for Pickleball 101 is required and limited to the first 24 kids in each time slot (48 total). Please only register for one time.
August 4: Forest Park Wildlife on Wheels
Join us for a fun and educational presentation with information about animals, their special adaptations, habitats, behavior, diets, and status in the wild. Animal visitors may include: mammals, reptiles, birds, amphibians, and arthropods.

August 18: Nature Time with Mass Audubon
Connect your family to the outdoors with a nature-inspired craft and hands-on demonstrations from the team at Mass Audubon’s Arcadia Wildlife Sanctuary.
